Are trade windows any good?
Yes. Trade windows are the same product that installers fit, sold without a retail margin or sales visit. Quality depends on the profile, glass and hardware, not the sales route. Check for Class A profile, a BFRC rating, CE or UKCA marking and the guarantee.
What should a good trade window have?
- Profile to BS EN 12608 Class A (at least 2.8 mm visible walls)
- BFRC Window Energy Rating of Band B or better
- CE or UKCA marking to BS EN 14351-1
- Multi-point locking, with PAS 24 tested hardware as an option
- Warm-edge spacers and low-E coated glass
Why are trade windows cheaper?
The saving comes from supplying the made-to-measure product directly to the fitter, with no showroom or sales overheads. The window itself is not downgraded.
What can go wrong?
Supply-only means measuring errors are the buyer’s responsibility, so measure carefully. See our supply-only uPVC windows for the options we stock and make. Ask for the BFRC certificate and warranty terms before ordering a large schedule, and keep both on file for the job.
